Each year, hundreds of families with a seriously ill or injured child visit our Gosford Family Room; taking a break from the ward to have a meal, take a shower, or do some washing – while remaining only a minute away from their sick child’s bedside.
A hospital stay can become very expensive, putting extra stress on families during an already difficult time. On average, our Family Room saves local families $37 a day while helping ease the stresses of having a sick child.
As a 100% community owned and operated charity, we rely on the generosity of our community and Family Room Volunteers to keep providing this vital service for local families.

Rocco and his mum, Rachelle, are no strangers to our Ronald McDonald Family Room at Gosford Hospital, frequenting the space while Rocco receives treatment for Spina Bifida.
“Rocco has spent a lot of tine in the hospital; it has been a huge support having the Family Room,” Rachelle said.
“The kitchen is always stocked ready for us to make food and snacks, tea and coffee are always available.
“The laundry facilities are great – it’s been a big help to be able to do our washing so close to the hospital when we don’t want to leave Rocco – the Family Room really is a home away from home.”
