Thank you to the generous supporters making a difference for sick kids and their families
Celebrating McHappy Day
A big thank you to our Founding and Forever Partner, McDonald’s, and their generous Northern NSW community, coming together to celebrate McHappy Day and support families with a seriously ill or injured child.
Thank you the Bloomfield Group
For families with a sick child in hospital, home cooked meals can be few and far between. But now, families visiting our Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms at John Hunter Children’s Hospital can enjoy a nutritious meal ‘Cooked with Love’ by our volunteers and readily available in our new fridge-freezers, kindly donated by The Bloomfield Group.
Cup for a Cause
Over 250 supporters came together for the inaugural ‘Cup for a Cause’, hosted by AON together with Newcastle Racecourse, supporting Northern NSW families with a seriously ill or injured child. It was a fun-filled day trackside, with community coming together, raising $25k – equating to over 155 nights of accommodation to help keep families in need together and close at our Ronald McDonald House.
‘Riding for my Avery’
When Brian Jnr’s sister, Avery, was diagnosed with cancer, Ronald McDonald House Newcastle became his family’s ‘home away from home’ for over 115 nights. While at Newcastle House, Brian Jnr joined Ride for Sick Kids, raising vital funds to support families just like his. In an incredibly heartfelt act, the eight-year-old dedicated his fundraising initiatives to his little sister.
Celebrating a year of Gosford Family Room Friends
A special shoutout to the local Central Coast businesses supporting families with a sick child in hospital, joining us as a Gosford Family Room Friend in 2025; helping ensuring thousands of families with a sick child in hospital can find comfort and reprieve in our Ronald McDonald House Family Room in Gosford Hospital. To celebrate 12-months of this meaningful initiative, our Gosford Family Room Friends joined us for a morning tea, hearing from volunteers and families about the difference their support has had for sick kids and their families.
