What began as a fun weekend in June 2024 quickly became life-changing for six-year-old Indi and her family.
Rushed to hospital, Indi was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. She faced chemotherapy, radiation, multiple surgeries, and nearly 100 nights in hospital.
“Her resilience and positivity are remarkable,” says her mum, Nikki.
Living hours from home, the family found strength in the support of the Ronald McDonald House community so Indi could receive life saving treatment.
“Our lives were turned upside down,” Nikki shares.
“The House gave us stability and became our safe haven during the hardest time of our lives.”
Thanks to your generosity, the House became more than just a place to stay, it offered connection, care, and a sense of belonging.
The family also spent time in the Ronald McDonald Family Room and are looking forward to recharging at the Family Retreat in Forster.
After 270 nights away, Indi is now home, back at school and thriving.
“Without the House, we would have struggled emotionally and financially,” says Nikki.
