Our Family Rooms

Our Family Rooms are welcoming spaces where you can take time out from the clinical environment of the wards, have a tea or coffee, freshen up with a shower or find a quiet space for a much-needed nap. The spaces also have dedicated play areas so the siblings of seriously ill children can have a bit of fun.

Our Family Rooms are staffed by passionate volunteers, providing friendly and compassionate support to the families that visit each day.

Who can use our Family Rooms?

We want to make sure families have a ‘home away from home’ inside the hospital, away from the clinical environment of the ward.

That’s why our Family Rooms are purpose built for the free and exclusive use of parents, carers, guardians and their families with kids undergoing inpatient or outpatient treatment at John Hunter Children’s and Gosford Hospitals.
